Volunteer Orientation

Welcome! If you’ve clicked on this page, chances are you’re interested in joining us as a volunteer.

When it is safe to do so, A Just Harvest has three main ways you can get involved:

  1. Serving in our Community Kitchen
  2. Organize and advocate for policies and practices that foster a more just society for all, with Northside P.OW.E.R.
  3. Providing training, job development, mentoring, business planning, and engaging in urban agriculture (AGUA) through The Genesis Project.

We also always need volunteers with IT, marketing, plumbing, painting, carpentry, graphic design, photography, videography, administrative, fundraising, and communications skills. We welcome and appreciate volunteers who can help in any of these areas!

Notes

  • Please note that the minimum age of volunteers for the Community Kitchen is 12 years old except under limited circumstances. For our programs, if you bring a group of children between the ages of 12-14, please bring three adults to help supervise.
  • If you cannot speak directly with our volunteer coordinator, you need to receive a phone call or email confirming that you are on the schedule before you come to volunteer.
